On July 30, the Congress high command had endorsed the carving out of Telangana state out of Andhra triggering statewide protests.

Reddy, who has been in jail since May 2012 in connection with a disproportionate assets case, began his fast last Sunday. He was shifted to Osmania General Hospital on Thursday and on Friday he was moved to Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences.

But Reddy is not the only one making a noise about Telangana. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who blamed the Congress for the turmoil in Andhra Pradesh, is setting out on a tour of the Seema-Andhra region from Sunday.

Naidu said he would embark on the Atmagourava Yatra to safeguard the self-respect of Telugu people and expose the ruling Congress’ conspiracy in the Telangana episode.

“Congress, TRS and YSR Congress wanted to derive political gain out of the state division issue by blaming the TDP. We will teach them a lesson,” he added.
