Drunken youths dash car into divider

FOUR YOUTHS driving at high speed in an inebriated state jumped the divider in front of Treasure Island on the MG Road leading to grievous injuries to the passengers late Saturday night.

FOUR YOUTHS driving at high speed in an inebriated state jumped the divider in front of Treasure Island on the MG Road leading to grievous injuries to the passengers late Saturday night.

Tukoganj police said that a car (Opel Astra number MP 09 HB 1872) was being driven at high speed towards Palasia on the MG Road, which remains busy during the day and was nearly empty at the time of the accident at about 2 am.

The four youths - Vikki (20) and Mannu (20) of Khajrana, Yogendra (19) of Indrapuri and Bherulal (20) of Sunil Nagar were injured in the accident.

The injured were returning from a marriage party and their relatives and acquaintances, who came to know of the incident, immediately rushed them to a private hospital.

The police have registered a case of drunken driving and for damaging public property, as the divider has been broken and an electricity pole bent from the impact.
