He pointed out that while the world is facing an economic downturn that would continue till 2013 India has been able to withstand it by acting intelligently through its reform measures.
Addressing office bearers of the Karnataka unit of the Congress, he said India is among five nations that have shown an improvement in GDP growth along with China, Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia.
"The economic crisis has affected India but our growth cycle will start again..." he said.
