?Efforts will be made to develop City as cargo hub?

CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that efforts would be made to develop Bhopal as a cargo hub. Bhopal and Indore airports are being developed as per international standards, the Chief Minister said adding that efforts are being made to ensure regular air-service at Khajuraho.

CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that efforts would be made to develop Bhopal as a cargo hub. Bhopal and Indore airports are being developed as per international standards, the Chief Minister said adding that efforts are being made to ensure regular air-service at Khajuraho.

He said this while dedicating the administrative building of the Civil Aviation Department to the people here today. The building has been constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD) at a cost of Rs 38.45 lakh. It may be mentioned here that a VIP Complex is also ready for inauguration.

Chouhan said that infrastructure is being developed for expansion of air services in the State. He added further that the possibility of participation of the private sector in aviation should also be explored.

He said that it has become urgent to strengthen air services and maintain their quality considering faster development in sectors like tourism, industry and Information Technology.

Minister for Public Works Kailash Vijayvargiya said the aviation department needs to function with professional efficiency in view of faster development.

Secretary (Aviation) D P Tiwari, Director (Aviation) V P Singh, Chief Pilot Captain H S Ali, Airport Authority Director Anil Sharma and senior officials from the departments of Public Works and Aviation were present on the occasion.
