Eight killed, several injured in Pak firing

The gunmen attacked a passenger pick-up car near the city of Haripur, some 65km north of Islamabad.

At least eight persons, including a child, were killed and several others injured on Thursday as unidentified gunmen opened fire at them in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province.

The gunmen attacked a passenger pick-up car near the city of Haripur, some 65km north of Islamabad, Geo television reported.

The attackers fled in their black car after the firing, it said.

The motive for the killing was not known, the report said adding, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

A school going child was among those killed. The injured were shifted to hospitals in Haripur and Abbotabad.
