Five people were killed and four others injured when a jeep in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Narayanbagad area last evening, they said.

The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital where their condition is stated to be stable, they added.

In another incident, a Border Road Organisation truck fell into a gorge on Joshimath-Malari road killing three persons on the spot, they said, adding two others, who were injured in the incident have been admitted to a hospital.
