Eight naxals were arrested in Kanker district in Chhattisgarh following an encounter with the joint reserved forces team, police said on Thursday.

Eight naxals were arrested in Kanker district in Chhattisgarh following an encounter with the joint reserved forces team, police said on Thursday.
The face-off took place in the jungles of Dodhkar Eanhur and Bangachar last evening when naxals open fire at the CRPF and SRF personnel, which had reached the spot on a tip-off about naxal activity in the area, Kanker SP Ajay Yadav told PTI.
Two fully loaded guns and one 12mm rifle were also recovered from the extremists, he said. The arrested naxalites are being interrogated and further investigations are on, Yadav added.
