Ending a three-year-long wait of his near and dear ones, Puthan Veettil Abdul Latheef Naushad on Thursday returned home, a day after he was released from a prison in Saudi Arabia, where he was facing an eye-for-an-eye punishment.

His parents, wife Suhaila, their two children and a large number of people were present at the airport to receive Naushad, who came by a Gulf Air flight from Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
"We thank God for the return of my son. We are also grateful to the Saudi King. We have been struggling for long," Naushad's mother Nabeesa Beevi said with tears trickling down her cheeks.
Striving to keep her calm and composure, Suhaila said "We are grateful to the government for taking up my husband's case. I also thank the media for highlighting the case."
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and leaders of various political parties also turned up to receive Naushad and share the happy moments of the family re-union.
