TO PREVENT wastage of energy and to ensure judicious use of electricity in industries energy audit should be conducted so that efficiency of the appliances can be enhanced.
Seeing the gap between demand and supply of energy in the country there is need to pay special attention to conservation of energy. By doing so not only resources will be saved but foreign exchange will also be saved.
These views were expressed by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) New Delhi Director VK Bhargav at the seminar organised under the joint aegis of PCRA and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited on conservation of energy in pumps and compressors.
By conserving energy, the industries would get financial benefit and production costs would also become competitive, said Bhargav.
He suggested that for proper use of energy in industries energy audit should be conducted. Bhargav maintained that redundant appliances should be replaced. He appreciated energy audit conducted by Indore Municipal Corporation for streetlights.PCRA western region coordinator RK Gupta said that by proper maintenance of appliances and systematic operation up to 25 percent energy could be saved.
TATA International president OK Kaul maintained that the biggest challenge these days is to reduce the cost of production. Experts cleared the doubts of the participants. JP Mishra conducted the programme.
