It was the time to remember and thank the Almighty for all the blessings He has been showering on the two prestigious institutions since their inception.

Marking the occasion, which has its own uniqueness in terms of its exquisite visual richness and colour, nearly 250 BHS, students marched from their college campus in a disciplined and graceful procession, led by College Captain Arjun Menon. Passing through Civil Lines, they headed towards the GHS, where they were joined by an equal number of its girl students, led by College Captain Ashita Simon. From there, they all marched with commendable grace towards All Saints' Cathedral for the Thanksgiving Service. For the morning walkers and passers-by it was, indeed, a unique spectacle to observe.

A solemn ceremony took off at the Cathedral were BHS Principal CV Innes and GHS Principal Mrs P David entered the Cathedral to the strains of hymn, "Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee", and then BHS and GHS College Captains handed over the colours to their respective principals.

Inside the Cathedral, excerpts from the holy scripture, Book of Psalm, pages 145-147 were read by Mr Innes and Mrs David, while the mood of all those present there was overwhelmingly expressive of their gratitude to God for having blessed both the BHS and the GHS with the fulfillment of their mission to serve the people as outstanding institutions for imparting quality, in tune with the ever-changing academic and professional needs, to the children of Allahabad.

Addressing the congregation, Rev G Doud said that remembering the Lord on the Founder's Day every year was not just a ritual but a spiritual commitment which those associated with BHS and GHS fulfilled most humbly to express their gratitude to the Lord for His ever-flowing kindness. "On the Founder's Day every year," he said, "comes the time to reiterate the resolve to continue with the mission not only to sustain the quality of education at these institutions but also to improve upon it to help their students to grow as true human beings and also face ably and successfully the unfolding challenges in their future lives."

As the Thanksgiving Service came to a close, the students returned to their respective school campus to share with one another the joy of being part, as elegantly as they could, of yet another Founder's Day.
