According to a source at Percept, the actress walked out of the project she’d given the nod to. “These days, everyone wants to be Akshay Kumar even if he or she can’t gurantee returns,” says the source. Financial disputes Shailendra Singh of PPC confirms the news, “We expected Esha to be enthusiastic about the film. But she insisted on sticking to her perceived commercial fee. So we decided to let her go.”

Since the film already toplines Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Panscholi and Neha Dhupia, Singh has decided to launch a newcomer. “We’ll sign her for a five-film contract and make her star,” he says. “Going by the hype surrounding Love Story 2050 and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na there is a lot of excitement surrounding new faces. Percept has always been keen on promoting new talent.”

New beginning Singh declines to reveal the identity of his new protégée. “We’re in the process of getting the papers signed. In a couple of days, I’ll give you her name and photographs.” Incidentally, Esha Deol has given the dates that she had reserved for the movie to Shivam Nair’s Ghost Ghost Na Raha which pairs her with Rahul Bose. The film is being produced by PVR.
