Taking a dig at the Congress, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said on Tuesday that the party was unable to name its Chief Minister candidate in Haryana as "everyone" in the state unit was in the race for the post.

Referring to the race among state Congress leaders in Haryana for Chief Ministership at a campaign rally in Rohtak, he said, "everyone in the state congress is in the arena for the post of chief minister but nobody knows whom Sonia Gandhi will ultimately choose".
"Congress is an old and organised party. But why it is not declaring the name of its candidate for chief ministership," Vajpayee asked, adding that the party's "failure to announce its chief ministerial candidate was creating confusion among the people of Haryana".
"There were several aspirants for the post in the state Congress resulting in division among them," Vajpayee observed and added that "a divided Congress could not solve the problems of the people of the state".
Cautioning his partymen against rigging of the polls, Vajpayee asked them to be "vigilant".
