Ex gratia of roadways' staff enhanced to Rs 5,000

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday announced an enhanced ex gratia of Rs 5,000 each to all eligible Class 3 and 4 employees of the Haryana Roadways in lieu of bonus for 2012-13.

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday announced an enhanced ex gratia of Rs 5,000 each to all eligible Class 3 and 4 employees of the Haryana Roadways in lieu of bonus for 2012-13.

Nearly 17,000 employees would be benefited from the decision and it would cost Rs 8.5 crore to the state exchequer, a government spokesman said in a release.

Most of the demands of the Haryana Roadways Employees' Union had been accepted, the spokesperson said, adding that the construction of housing colonies for the roadways' employees had started.

The government was providing free travel in roadways buses to widows of regular employees who died while in service, the spokesperson added.Inflation will bite into Royal city’s Diwali celebrations, fixed income groups to get most affected, say experts.
