Experts? team formed

STATE GOVERNMENT today constituted an expert committee for advice on proposal to develop Bhopal as a global environment city.

A meeting had taken place at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on March 27 this year to consider the proposal of developing Bhopal as global environment city.

The expert committee will give its expert advice on the project in six months. During the term of the committee Environment Planning & Coordination Organisation (EPCO) will work as its secretariat.

Non-Government members of the committee are member Prime Minister’s review group Dr O P Mathur, retired professor School of Planning & Architecture New Delhi Prof Ravindra Bhan, chairman NCHSE Bhopal M N Buch, Professor IIS Banglore Prof Ramchandra Guha and director, TVB School of Habitat Study New Delhi A G K Menon.

Among Government’s representative in the committee are principal secretaries of forest, finance, tourism and culture, housing and environment and urban development departments, commissioner Bhopal, secretary to chief minister Anurag Jain, commissioner-cum-director town & country planning and executive director EPCO.
