According to imdb.com, Fanning has shot a child rape scene and appears half naked in the controversial film directed by Deborah Kampmeier. It is a dark and disturbing story set in the rural south.

Fanning's mother and agent are sure that her edgy performance will earn her an Oscar for best actress.

Her agent Joy Osbrink says: "It's not just the rape scene - the whole story is challenging for Dakota as an actress. And I've never been so proud of her in my life. I have seen the dailies, and in every scene she gets better and better."
