Feroz demands early release of funds for construction of Kargil-Zanskar NH

Minister of state for science and technology Feroz Ahmad Khan has asked the authorities to release necessary funds at the earliest to start construction work on Kargil-Zanskar road, which has been declared as a national highway recently.

Expressing his gratitude to chief minister Omar Abdullah and union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari for declaring the road as an NH and handing over it to the J&K Public Works Department (PWD), Feroz said the decision had resolved the long-pending demand of the people of far-flung areas of Kargil and Zanskar.

He said it's the only surface link that connects Zanskar with the rest of the country.

He said the construction of the road would ensure the development of the area, which would in turn benefit the local population in enhancing their standard of living.
