Since the sixth day of Navratra is dedicated to Goddess Katyayani, the temple of Katyayani was seen over crowded with the rush of devotees on Thursday. A long queue of devotees was seen outside the temple of Goddess Katyayani.
Besides, all the major and small temples of Goddess Durga witnessed huge rush of devotees.
Devotees in large number continued to reach in the holy city of Varanasi from different parts of the State.
The idols of Goddess Durga have been installed at several places, including Varanasi Durgotsav Samiti, Jim Sporting Club and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), on Thursday amid chanting of Vedic mantras but maximum idols would be installed on the day of Saptami on Friday. A religious procession of Bharat Seva Sangh was also taken out in Varanasi on Thursday to bring the idol of Goddess Durga on the premises of Bharat Seva Sangh.
Navratra would be celebrated by more that 200 clubs, social organisations and institutions in Varanasi. The city will witness an unprecedented crowd of devotees during the next three days of Navratra festival from Friday to Sunday.
The immersion procession would be taken out on October 2.
