Fire breaks out in Chandigarh's hotel Taj

The fire broke out in the ground floor of hotel Taj following which the guests in the building were evacuated.

A major fire on Sunday broke out in a hotel in the heart of the city but there was no casualty, fire brigade sources said.

The fire broke out in the ground floor of hotel Taj following which the guests in the building were evacuated by the personnel of fire brigade, fire officer Jagjivan Singh said.

Around seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the fire, he said adding the fire was controlled after about 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire was being ascertained and the loss assessed.
