First evening court to be operational from May 1

Gujarat Govt has taken the decision, which will benefit large number of people engaged in various kinds of jobs.

The country's first evening court will start functioning in the district from May 1, Gujarat Law Minister Ashok Bhatt said in Vadodara on Sunday.

In a bid to reduce huge number of pending cases in the courts in the state, Gujarat government has taken the decision, which will benefit large number of people engaged in various kinds of jobs on daily basis, Bhatt said.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had made this suggestion at a conference of judges held in New Delhi a couple months ago.
