Five injured in car accident

Five people, including two South Korean nationals, were hurt when the driver of Korean embassy car lost control of the vehicle, hit a motorcycle and then rammed into an electricity pole on the Greater Noida expressway.

Five people, including two South Korean nationals, were hurt when the driver of Korean embassy car lost control of the vehicle, hit a motorcycle and then rammed into an electricity pole on the Greater Noida expressway.

According to the police, Choi Yir (48), secretary at the Korean embassy in Delhi and Hi Jung (35), manager of electronics major Samsung, were on their way to the Jaypee Greens Golf course in Greater Noida.

“Near Badoli, a front tyre of the car burst and the driver lost control and rammed into the pole. The car was travelling at a high speed,” Superintendent of Police S.K. Verma said.

The injured were taken to Kailash Hospital, from where the Koreans were shifted to a Delhi hospital. Vijay Singh (48), was said to be critical.

The two youths riding the bike, Abhay Kumar Singh (25) and Himanshu Verma (28), were admitted to the intensive care unit and their condition was said to be stable.
