Five killed in Jammu and Kashmir road accident

Five people have been killed and four injured in Anantnag when the taxi they were travelling in collided with an army vehicle.

At least five people were killed and four injured in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Friday when the taxi they were travelling in collided with an army vehicle, police said.

The army vehicle that was part of a convoy collided with the taxi, a Tata Sumo, in Yaripora village of Anantnag, about 73 km from Srinagar, in the morning, a police official said.

"Five passengers of the taxi died on the spot while four others sustained serious injuries. We have moved the injured to a hospital," he told IANS.
