
Five members of looters? gang nabbed
SANYOGITAGANJ POLICE have arrested five members of a gang who have confessed their involvement in three loots, including one that occurred in Juni Indore wherein Rs 2.5 lakh were looted from Rajkumar Mittal, a trader in Loha Mandi. They had hit Mittal with an iron rod while he was returning home at night and stolen the money kept in the boot of his scooter.
They also confessed looting Rs 2,000 in cash, a mobile and one gold chain from Anand Rathore, in the Chhavni area. It may be recalled that the thieves had thrown chilli powder in Anand’s eyes and to escape them Anand had jumped from the first floor of a house, and had been hospitalised as a result.
The same gang was also involved in looting a motorcycle (MP-09-JQ-9992), one gold ring, one mobile phone from Shesh Karan Solanki in the Palasia area. Police said that the motorcycle stolen from Solanki had been used by the miscreants while looting Anand.
Police said that accused were arrested from Modi Ka Bhatta area while they were planning another loot at a businessman’s house in Rau.
The arrested are Anil (22) son of Jagdish Yadav resident of Triveni Nagar, Vijay (22) son of Hariram Dhanuk resident of 88, Triveni Nagar, Birju (20) son of Kuldeep Chauhan resident of Mitrabandhu Nagar, Manoj alias Chhoti (22) son of Kaniram Luhar resident of 59, Azad Nagar and Kalu alias Anil (20) son of Gokul resident of Kalali Mohalla.
Other members of the gang who are still at large are Ramesh, Balbu and Rakesh. Police said all accused have criminal records, but the ring leader appears to be Chhoti.
