FM channel inauguration postponed

THE FORMAL inauguration of the FM channel in the city has been postponed due to sudden change in the programme of Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priyaranjan Das Munshi. The channel was to be dedicated to the citizens by the minister on June 29.

According to the programme executive at Akashvani Rajiv Dubey, the next date for the inauguration will be decided soon after receiving the details of programme of the minister.

However, the citizens are awaiting the dedication of the channel with great eagerness. Though the channel will present half a dozen popular music-based programmes, three of its programmes are likely to become very popular. “Hit Hit Hit” containing the latest hit songs , “Rainbow Genious” which will have golden collection of songs from 1950 to 1970, “Top Twelve Countdown” will be most attractive to citizens of all ages.

Meanwhile, the FM radio will have to depend upon programmes of the Delhi FM Channel. But gradually it will have its own programming system to suit the city audience.
