For business and career
Feng Shui is more than fashion now. It has become a statement, which is goal-oriented, writes Mohan Deep.
Whether a Harvard educated CEO or an entrepreneur who has started with `What They Do Not Teach You At Harvard Business School` and `Rich Dad, Poor Dad`, when in trouble they seek Feng Shui help. Feng Shui is more than fashion now. It has become a statement, a statement that one is goal oriented, that one wants more from life.

I have had my share of trendy clients who have acclaimed in front of TV cameras the role of Feng Shui in their success and now, as on February 9, begin the Chinese New Year; it is time to look back. For me, this weekly column is a diary - open for all - as I recall my interesting encounters and write about them. And if I do not mention the famous names it is for reason of confidentiality.
In focus this week is business and career related Feng Shui: The Feng Shui for the business and the Feng Shui for the career.
The number of people who crossed my path - either face to face or long distance - seem like the characters from Dallas, Dynasty, Three Is Company or All in the Family, revealing different facets of their personae in various moods. The only common factor among them all is Feng Shui.
Take Joe, for instance. He consulted me for his house and office when he struck a bad patch in his business. He faithfully followed all the suggestions, which included seemingly unimportant things like coloring the Wealth, corner blue and more important placing a Fish tank in the same sector.
I remember his words.
"The result has been mind blowing. You did the Feng Shui of my home in August and office in September. And the changes started in October!" he said with a satisfied grin as we sat in his centrally air-conditioned office over a cup of coffee.
He continues to remain in touch. Few months back Joe got me to take a complete look at a new 2000 sq feet posh apartment he had bought and was getting renovated before moving in. And more recently, when he moved into a new, larger office I sat with his architect who did the office décor in consultation. Joe continues to grow what with opening another office in Dubai.
Indians, whether located in India or abroad, have regularly benefited from Feng Shui but when an Indian woman married to a Chinese approached me for Feng Shui consultation I was thrilled. It was a compliment as China is where Feng Shui started and for this Hong Kong based woman it would have been easier to get the services of a Chinese Feng Shui Master than to locate me on the ''net and get online consultation by mailing me a copy of the floor plan and some photographs. But this is what she did.
It was as much a privilege as getting the blessings from His Holiness Dalai Lama, the Spiritual King of Tibet in exile as I have always blended Tibet's Black Hat Sect Feng Shui with the Ba Zhai Feng Shui and the Compass School of Feng Shui, popularized by Lillian Too. Pooja had started a business of selling saris and other traditional Indian dresses and had invested all her savings in purchasing from different parts of India including Udaipur, Calcutta and Jaipur.
