TOP SNOOKER players had mixed luck today in the second leg of the billiards and snooker selection tournament for the Asian Games. Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association has organised the tournament at Yeshwant Club and Indore Tennis Club.

TOP SNOOKER players had mixed luck today in the second leg of the billiards and snooker selection tournament for the Asian Games. Madhya Pradesh Billiards and Snooker Association has organised the tournament at Yeshwant Club and Indore Tennis Club.

Top seeded Yasin Merchant went down fighting to Manan Chandra by 2-3 in a thrilling match. In the second match, Rupesh shocked Yasin Merchant by 1-3 (64-51, 64-19, 60-72 and 62-31). In the third match, Yasin Merchant had to fight hard before beating Aditya Mehta by 3-2 (79 (50)-17, 9-72 (72), 73-18, 6-89, (66) 73-3).

After shocking top seed Yasin Merchant, Manan Chandra once again showed his class by defeating Alok Kumar in the third thrilling match by 3-2 (120(90)-1,27-89,59-40, 25-60 and 60-47). Earlier, in his second match he defeated Neeraj Kumar by 3-0 (102-25, 81-34 and 64-40) to strengthen his position in the tournament.

Alok Kumar defeated Neeraj Kumar by 3-1 (63-24, 59-32, 7-9170-39). Rupesh Shah defeated Devendra Joshi by 3-1 (75-51,40-83, 69-27, 61-38)

After losing to Rupesh Shah, Devendra Joshi pulled up his socks to stun Ashok Shandilya by 3-2 (60-12, 42-20, 49-70,54-56, 62-36).

Pankaj Advani had mixed luck. He won the match against Aditya Mehta but in his second match he lost to Devenra Joshi. In the first match Pankaj defeated Aditya Mehta by 3-0 (72 (65)-52, 83-36, 69 (58)-11), while in the second match he was stunned by Devendra Joshi by 0-3. Joshi won by (60-47, 66-30, 60-55).

Rafat Habib played well today to win his two matches against Ashok Kumar and Rupesh Shah respectively. In his first match, Rafat defeated Ashok Kumar by 3-2 in a well-contested match (63-24, 12-58, 21-84,87-17,84-32). In the second match Rafat beat Rupesh Shah 3-1.
