Foreign tourist to Kumbh Mela looted at Manmad

A 63-year-old Australian tourist who had come here to study Indian culture and the use of IT during the Kumbh Mela, was looted at Manmad railway station.

A 63-year-old Australian tourist who had come here to study Indian culture, tradition and the use of information technology (IT) during the Kumbh Mela, was looted of over Rs one lakh at Manmad railway station, near here.

Warrin W Globar, a teacher from Kangaroo Ground, Australia, boarded the 1772 UP Kamayani Express for Nasik Road after he came from Bangalore, police said.

While travelling yesterday, an unidentified man stole his money and his laptop, before escaping from the train.

Globar lodged a complaint with Manmad railway police who have registered an offence under section 379 of IPC.
