Former Karnataka minister DT Jayakumar passed away at a private hospital here today after a brief illness.

He was 60 years old. He is survived by his wife and a son.

Jayakumar, who represented Nanjangud assembly constituency thrice in 1985, 1994 and 2004, had served the Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy led coalition governments.

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, Opposition Congress leader in the state assembly Siddaramaiah and Labour Minister B N Bacchegowda have condoled his death.
