Four arrested for RPI activist’s murder

The Kalwa police have arrested four people after Ramatai Pujari (45), a Republican Party of India leader was killed on Saturday.

The Kalwa police have arrested four people after Ramatai Pujari (45), a Republican Party of India leader was killed on Saturday.

“We have arrested Deva Ghadekar, whose uncle is involved in constructing huts at Mafatlal compound.

Pujari was also in the same business and there might have been some dispute,” said Vittal Desai, senior inspector.

“We are not disclosing name of the other accused as more arrests have to be made,” he said.

Pujari’s daughter had filed a complaint against Krishna Pandey, Sanjay Ghadekar, Devidas Ghadekar, Yusuf Pathan, Amit Jaiswal, Jayesh Mhatre, Tillya, Vitthal Ehande’s nephew and many others.

State Reserve Police Force personnel were deployed in the area throughout the night. Pujari had 17 criminal cases which included two murder cases against her.

She had been externed and had served jail term as well. She had filed a complaint at Kalwa police station against vandals, allegedly Gopalnagar residents, for damaging her M&M Scorpio on Saturday.
