After being arrested, the victim's husband Anil Kumar and her mother-in-law Sharna Devi were produced before a court on Wednesday, which sent them to 14-day judicial custody.
The role of two others - Kamal Kumar (Anil Kumar's brother) and Seema Devi (Anil Kumar's elder brother's wife) - is being investigated.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim's brother Attar Singh, his sister Reena Devi (23) got married to Anil Kumar around two years ago. "She was being harassed since then for dowry. We had taken up the matter before a local panchayat, but her in-laws did not stop harassing her," Attar Singh told police.
He further alleged that Reena's in-laws forcefully gave her poison on Monday evening due to which she died on the same night. The police said they were yet to get the victim's medical report.
