LACK OF clear directive from the top vis-à-vis Bajrang Dal menace has sent the top brass in the Police Headquarters in a tizzy even as attacks on Christians are going unabated in the State.
“It is high time the top leadership clearly spell out how to go about dealing with the saffron terror so that we get our acts together accordingly”, says a senior police official.
The officials pointed out that saffron activists tried to whip up communal passion during the stints of Babulal Gaur and Uma Bharti too but once the chief minister gave out clear signal to the administrative machinery the menace was effectively taken care of.
The approaching Basant Panchami is another source of big worry in the PHQ as reports coming from Dhar are disconcerting. Officials are keeping their fingers crossed as efforts to forge a formula to amicably hold both Puja and special Friday prayer at Bhojshala in Dhar have not borne fruits till now.
The PHQ is maintaining a close vigil on the situation in Dhar where nearly 4,000 security personnel will be deployed around Bhojshala by February 3.
Officials are optimistic that though both the sides are sticking to their stand till now , a formula would be reached by Thursday and the issue would be resolved. The local administration is holding a series of meetings with the concerned parties.
