Games probe: CBI raids NDMC men’s house

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which on Thursday carried out nationwide raids and lodged three FIRs over alleged irregularities in the upgradation projects at the Talkatora and Shivaji stadiums in the run up to the Commonwealth Games, has recovered cash and other assets worth Rs69 lakh allegedly belonging to an official of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which on Thursday carried out nationwide raids and lodged three FIRs over alleged irregularities in the upgradation projects at the Talkatora and Shivaji stadiums in the run up to the Commonwealth Games, has recovered cash and other assets worth Rs69 lakh allegedly belonging to an official of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

A CBI team, said an agency source, had raided the Ramesh Nagar residence (in east Delhi) of NDMC’s assistant engineer JK Katyal that yielded “Rs10 lakh in cash, Rs12.69 lakh in a locker, documents of a Ghaziabad flat worth Rs23 lakh, Rs20 lakh of fixed deposit receipts and bank guarantees and jewellery worth

R3 lakh.” The agency is currently in the process of examining and evaluating assets and incriminating documents recovered by its teams in the nationwide raid operations.
