Ganga rises as Narora dam releases water

The water level in Ganga river has suddenly risen following discharge of water from Narora dam, damaging agricultural crops in the region.

The water level in Ganga river has suddenly risen following discharge of water from Narora dam, damaging agricultural crops in the region.

Water started rising two days ago when the dam was opened, sources said, adding the worst-hit crop was water-melon.

Precautionary measures have been taken to avert casualties due to the water-level rise, official sources said.
