Shunned by Indian selectors, former India captain Sourav Ganguly will prove his mettle in county cricket as the southpaw has signed up for a five-week stint with Northamptonshire.

The 33-year-old left-hander will take place of Chris Rogers who has been called up to play for Australia 'A' team.
Ganguly is expected to make his debut for Northants in a C and G Trophy limited overs tie against Nottinghamshire on June 25.
This will be Kolkata Prince's third county stint as he had earlier played on two previous occasions - for Lancashire in 2000 and Glamorgan last summer.
He will team up with former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener in the county side.
Northants CEO Mark Tagg said the club was delighted to have Ganguly, adding that the presence of a world-class player will help the side.
