Gaur visits Naxalite arms factory

Gaur was surprised to see the workshop that also served as R&D centre for the Naxalites in developing sophisticated weapons. SP Anant Kumar Singh apprised Gaur about the weapons.

City MLA Umashankar Gupta, Bhopal Mayor Sunil Sood and BMC Chairman Ramdayal Prajapati accompanied Gaur in his visit to the factory. The Bhopal SP informed them that police had recovered vast literature about weaponry from the Naxalites.

The lethal plastic grenades and carbine were designed here. The illegal factory began functioning here in 2002 and was busted in a raid last month.

Gaur lauded the Bhopal police for the arrest of Naxalites. He said that he would recommend to the Centre and State government to reward the police force, which executed the entire operation.
