Researcher Fadela Fuchs, who is on long term visa in the coastal state, on October 2 had filed a complaint against Rohit Monserratte, son of Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte, for sexually and mentally abusing her daughter.
"My minor daughter is being mentally and sexually harassed by Rohit Monserratte, who is a major. It seems police prefer that I withdraw the complaint. They have told me that it is up to me to decide whether to go ahead with the case or not," Fuchs told reporters here.
She had also said that 21-year-old Rohit was sending lewd SMSs to her daughter.
In what seems to be a delay in police action, the mother contended that she received letter from the police almost ten days after she lodged the complaint.
"Deputy superintendent of Police Gundu Naik wrote to me asking for convenient time so that he could discuss the case," Fuchs informed.
Fuchs, briefing presspersons this afternoon, expressed worry over the way case is being handled. "They would have booked the accused, if he was ordinary boy," she said.
