The Goa police will oppose Tarun Tejpal's bail plea when it comes up for trial today on the grounds that the charges against him are not only serious, but also well-founded, said sources.
Tejpal has made a revision application, appealing against the Panaji sessions court order denying him bail and has also filed a fresh bail application in the Goa bench of the Bombay high court, both of which will be heard simultaneously.
Other than the charge being well-founded, the Goa police will also be opposing bail on the ground that Tejpal had previously tried to intimidate investigating officer Sunita Sawant. She had filed a separate FIR against him for the alleged intimidation.
