GOVERNOR DR Bal Ram Jakhar has expressed concern over the security of Kamla Bai of Nigri village (Raisen), the tribal woman whose palm was chopped off and house burnt down after she filed a rape complaint. Talking to a delegation of members of the All-India Democratic Women’s Association who met him on the issue today, the Governor also assured that he would ensure that the victim’s family gets proper security.

The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Governor along with an affidavit by Kamla Bai and her husband Prakash that mentioned that they feared for their lives.

The memorandum alleged the police played a questionable role in the entire turn of incidents and even prevented Prakash from meeting Kamla Bai during her long stay in hospital in Bhopal despite them writing application to the Chief Minister in the matter. The couple could finally meet when they both went back to Nigri village.
