The decision was taken in a meeting of state's rural development and panchayat department held under the chairmanship of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here, a release said on Saturday that several natives of the state had migrated to various parts of the country or world and made distinctions in various business and professions.

The scheme aims at encouraging NRIs belonging to the state to remain rooted with their native place and also inspire them to contribute towards the development of their native villages and towns.

Hooda gave approval for the setting up of district level committee under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner, which would receive proposals from such natives regarding the development projects to be adopted or funded by them. These panels would also provide grievance redressal forum to such natives.
