A meeting was held in Ghaziabad between the officials of state development agencies, National Highways Authority of India and Road Transport and Highways (Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways) secretary.

District magistrate Hridesh Kumar said the major stress was on expediting the joint-survey for the Delhi-Meerut eight-lane expressway. Also, the stretch between Nizamuddin in Delhi and Dasna in Ghaziabad on NH-24, which is a part of the Delhi-Meerut expressway, will be expanded to eight lanes with five underpasses at various areas in Ghaziabad connecting it to Noida, officials said.

The decision on six-laning of Mohan Nagar-Meerut section on the NH-58 and upgrade of the Lal Kuan stretch to four lanes on NH-91 was also finalised at the meeting, Kumar said.
