Govt preparing judicial reform roadmap: Moily

In a bid to ensure accountability of judges and reduce pendency of cases, the government is preparing a roadmap for judicial reforms in the country, Law Minister M Veerappa Moily informed the Lok Sabha in New Delhi.

In a bid to ensure accountability of judges and reduce pendency of cases, the government is preparing a roadmap for judicial reforms in the country, Law Minister M Veerappa Moily informed the Lok Sabha in New Delhi.

The minister said the aim of the roadmap for judicial reforms is to reduce pendency of cases in courts, ensure accountability of judges and bringing transparency in judicial process for the litigants.

"Apart from taking appropriate legislative measures, capacity building in the judiciary through steps such as application of information and communication technology, financial assistance for development of infrastructure and setting up of more courts have been taken up," Moily said in a written reply.
