Delivering the inaugural address at a two-day ‘International Alumni Meet’ at the institute, Minister said the final shape to autonomy structure would be given soon.
He asked the director of the HBTI, Dr RP Singh to prepare the final proposal and arrange the board meeting before December 18 for this purpose. The proposal would be presented before the board and after getting it approved it would be cleared, he added.
Singh further said the State Government was keen on ensuring fast promotion of technical education at the rural level and it would not create any hindrance in the promotional activities or the policies of the institutes.
Dispelling the doubts of the alumni settled abroad over the government intervention in funds’ management of the institute, he said that they were free to make such rules, which empowered them for using the funds and government would not interfere in the funds management.
The minister said under the technical education promotional policy, the State Government has decided to set up at least ten polytechnics in the field of information technology. He, however, said that there was acute scarcity of good faculty at the technical institutes and all efforts should be made to remove this snag. Institutes should look for the best faculties and should provide them adequate facilities for rendering their services to the institutes, he added.
He said most of the engineers joined the multi national companies (MNC) as they were offered handsome salary package. He advised such technocrats that they should not forget their duties towards their institutions and the society.
Minister also advised the qualified persons that they should come forward to take up the social issues. He warned that in case they failed to register their participation in the social activities the unwanted persons would take the advantage and would harm the society.
Earlier, minister laid the foundation stone of the digital library building on the campus and hoped that the library would be quite rich in every respect.
In his address, the director of the HBTI, Dr RP Singh said that it was encouraging that the rules framed by the International Alumni Association were approved by the board of governors and also gave rights to make any changes in it whenever it was needed.
He also hailed the decision of the government for granting autonomy to the institute and hoped that soon it would be declared as the deemed university.
