The people of Holland, particularly those interested or getting interested in cricket, couldn't have asked for more. For one whole week, they will be watching some of the world's best cricketers in action.

The concept of a cricket tournament in an emerging cricketing nation like Holland fascinates me. It will do its bit in promoting cricket in the region, much as the annual series between India and Pakistan in Canada in the 90s helped promote the sport in that country.

For the three teams involved, the tournament is a wonderful opportunity to become match-fit prior to the ICC Champions Trophy that will be played in England next month.

Australia and India are the top two sides in the world in my opinion. Pakistan? Well, they are their usual, unpredictable self. On their day, they are capable of surprising the best.

Despite the loss to Pakistan in the Asia Cup, I am inclined to believe that India hold the psychological advantage as the two sides prepare for the first game of the tournament on Saturday. India won a Test and one-day series in Pakistan not too long ago, and those memories will still be fresh in the minds of Ganguly and his team.

The Indians, of course, have one of the better batting line-ups in world cricket. Sehwag is maturing as a class player, and the others speak for themselves. In the bowling department, there is Irfan Pathan, a superstar-in-the-making, who according to me will have a big say in the tournament.

Pakistan's strength lies in their bowling, and if the wickets are helpful, their bowlers will become even tougher.
