A resolution to the effect was passed at the executive committee meeting of the BCG held today in the presence of council's chairman J R Gandhi, Vice chairman Dilip Patel and executive committee chairman Anil Kella.

A statement by the council said that out of the sanctioned 32 posts of judges in the Gujarat High Court, 18 have been lying vacant since long time which has affected quick disposal of cases, it said.

Despite the initiatives like Lok Adalats and Evening Courts, the backlog of cases keeps rising every day, the Council said.
