A section of the Gujjar community announced on Saturday its efforts to revive their agitation demanding 5% reservation and withdrawal of cases against community members in Rajasthan. The group, led by Ramvir Singh Bidhudi, announced that it will stage a mahapadav or sit-in near Arania railway station in Dausa district from tomorrow if the government did not meet its demands by tonight.

"5% reservation to Gujjars, withdrawal of cases against them and release of the community members lodged in jails after their previous agitation are the main demands", Bidhudi said. "The state government has always misguided Gujjars on the issue. Earlier, Colonel Bainsla led the agitation but people of the community did not avail anything. Now we have decided to form a 31 member committee that will talk with the government and any individual will not talk with the government," Bidhudi told reporters in Karauli.

"Gujjars did not avail anything despite several sacrifices and this is all due to Colonel (Bainsla). We invited him in the meeting today but he did not come so Gujjars decided to boycott his leadership," he said. Bainsla group has already announced that it will revive the agitation with the same demands from December 20 this year.
