Gulbarg Society case: BJP wants Congress to apologise
With an Ahmedabad court accepting the special investigation team’s closure report giving a clean chit to Narendra Modi in the Gulbarg Society case, an upbeat BJP has demanded an apology from the Congress for carrying out a "vilification campaign" against the Gujarat CM.
Senior leader Arun Jaitley also hit out at the US for denying Modi a visa, saying that to proclaim the Gujarat CM guilty even when there was no evidence against him despite several probes, amounted to "immature diplomacy" and set a precedent for a "reciprocal" response.
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said: "The court verdict nails the falsehood. The Congress, in collaboration with pseudo-secular fidayeen, continued with its ‘target Modi campaign’ with the help of disgruntled officers and other elements. This should stop now."
Jaitley said in a Facebook post that the American stance on the issue was clearly determined by their ‘kangaroo court’ and asked it to reflect on the "untenable situation".
