Gone are the days when men vied for women's attention by the ostentatious show of their wealth, for a recent poll reveals that today's financially independent women are not ready to get into the business of hearts solely on the basis of a man's pocket.

The survey, commissioned by the UK's First Direct bank, suggests that money is no longer a criteria with modern women when it comes to choosing their boyfriends.
“A healthy bank balance isn’t enough to win the heart of today’s financially independent woman,” The Sun quoted First Direct, as saying.
While, ninety-three per cent of the women questioned said they would not turn a man down because he was a low earner, nearly 83 per cent said they would go out with a fellow if he earned a lot less than them — or was unemployed
The percentage of money-centric women was amazingly low, with just three per cent considering breaking up with someone if they did not earn much.
