The results were declared on Tuesday.

Hailing from Sarlin village of the district, she gives credit of her success in the examination to her parents and the college staff.

She said she studied hard to secure a place in the merit, but was surprised on seeing that she had topped the list.

Daughter of ex-serviceman Ramesh Chand, Kiran said she had decided to come in the merit in 2010 when her brother had failed to come in the merit in the Class-10 examination with just two marks.

Elated over her daughter's achievement, her parents said she studied hard to reach the merit.

The proud father said he would extend her all support to join the Army. She had already taken part in the NCC during college and was preparing for IMA examinations.

He was hopeful that his daughter would become an army officer and bring name and fame to the family, the village and the district.
