IN A bid to spread joy and to pray for welfare of humanity, a religious function ‘Hariyali Mahotsav’ will be organised at the ancient Baba Kal Bhairav Temple in Visheshwarganj area here on August 17.

Coordinator of the Mahotsav and priest of temple, Rajesh Mishra said that the Mahotsav would begin with the ‘Jalabhishekh’ of Baba Kal Bhairav early morning on August 17.

Mishra informed that the tradition of the ‘mahotsav’ started in the year 1916 and it had been organised every year since. He said that an attractive ‘shringar’ of Kal Bhairav would also be performed with vermilion, perfume and Ganga jal.

He said a series of religious and cultural events would also be organised to mark the occasion. Mishra informed that the temple management had already ensured security arrangement through a private agency and six close circuit cameras were also set up here to monitor the activities of devotees.
