Haryana Chief Minister and ruling INLD president Om Prakash Chautala on Thursday said he accepted the people's verdict with "humility" and would analyse the reasons which led to the party's debacle in the Lok Sabha elections.

"We will analyse reasons (of INLD's defeat) and see why this happened despite our being committed to people's welfare," Chautala said immediately after the results showed that his party was not even able to win one seat out of a total of ten Parliamentary seats in the state.

Asked why his party had fared so badly in the polls, he said, "at this moment it is difficult to say, but we will carry on with our developmental works".

On asked if the party's performance in the Lok Sabha polls could have any bearing on the assembly elections which were only a few months away, he said, "the two (elections) are separate, but we will see where we have lacked and not been able to perform".

He said in the run up to state polls, the INLD would work hard to rise as per the people's expectations.
