Earlier in the day, Haryana ADGP Mohammad Akhil visited Rohtak a few hours before the scheduled Jail Bharo movement. On the demands of Jats to release youths from jails, he said, “People may ask for moon but we can’t give everything they ask for.” He said top officials were re-examining cases of those booked for riots. “Those who feel their innocent relatives have been arrested can come to police and we will probe the matter again,” he said.

However, Jat groups said their movement will continue till those arrested were not released. “People of our community will collect here everyday now and won’t bother about getting arrested,” Jat youth leader Naveen Malik said.

The police, meanwhile, filled Jat groups in buses and took them for a round across the city. Several attempts to dispose off Jats were made at remote areas of the city however Jats refused to get down.
